Raze The Space was founded on the principle of international artistic collaboration with the aim of creating global theatre for global audiences. As such, the ‘language’ of the ensemble’s theatrical work is driven by physical theatre techniques as much as it is by the text. Actors should therefore have training and experience both in Shakespeare and physical theatre.
Martin Jago is an interdisciplinary British theatre director and the author of several books on Shakespeare and the actor. His work focuses on the bold and often radical reimaging of classical texts. He was educated at University of Oxford.
Josh T Ryan is a critically acclaimed performance artist, actor, and director whose work The Huffington Post describes as “an artistic feast for both the intellect and the senses.” His innovative approach to classical text is rooted in physical theatre and influenced by luminaries such as Brook, Grotowski and Artaud.
We're delighted to announce that Josh T Ryan (left) has joined the creative team as Associate Director and Lead Collective Actor.
Josh is a critically-acclaimed performance artist, actor, and director at the forefront of three ground-breaking projects featuring the radical interpretations of classical texts.
These ideas will be explored in our Spring 2019 Ensemble Workshops. Find our more about Josh and the RAZE Ensemble Workshops by reading the casting call on this page.
